Garage Door Spring Replacement

Broken spring? Do not touch it. Call us.

Springs do the actual lifting — the opener just guides the door. When a spring breaks, a 150 to 400 pound door suddenly has nothing carrying its weight. It is the single most common garage door failure and, by a wide margin, the most dangerous one to attempt yourself. Spring systems are under enormous tension and require proper winding bars, technique, and correctly matched replacement springs.

We measure your door and existing springs and install springs matched to the exact weight and travel of your door — not a close-enough universal part. Correctly sized springs make the door feel light, take strain off your opener, and last dramatically longer.

We stock high-cycle torsion springs and recommend replacing both springs on two-spring doors: when one has reached the end of its cycle life, the other is close behind, and replacing both saves you a second service call.

What's included

  • Torsion and extension spring replacement
  • High-cycle spring upgrades (up to 4x standard life)

Common questions

FAQ

How do I know my spring broke?

The classic signs: a loud bang from the garage, a door that suddenly feels extremely heavy, a visible gap in the coil above the door, or an opener that strains and gives up.

Should I replace one spring or both?

On two-spring doors we recommend both. Springs wear by cycle count, so the surviving spring is near the end of its life — replacing it now avoids paying for a second visit within months.
